CIEE has sent students abroad since 1947; since the late 1960s, we have been developing study abroad programs on behalf of the CIEE Academic Consortium. The first CIEE Study Center, opened in Leningrad in 1966, is still in operation. CIEE partners with overseas universities to provide direct matriculation options, creates CIEE courses to add to the offerings, and staffs each Study Center with CIEE-employed Resident Staff who provide co-curricular activities and around-the-clock student services. We offer quality academics with opportunities for cultural engagement such as excursions, homestays, volunteer opportunities, and internships to provide the highest quality study abroad experiences.
