What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I fell in love with London and learned so much by being at a British university with such different academics. It was definitely worthwhile and made me want to move to London after college.

Personal Information

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 1 month - 6 months

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

UCL's English Language and Literature Program lets you decide what approach you'd like to take to the materials and wants you to do research and reading outside of class.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

I stayed in Frances Gardner House, one of the accommodations provided by UCL. Although it was a 20 minute walk to UCL's campus, the accommodation itself was very nice with a single room in an 8 person flat, a large kitchen, and an en-suite bathroom.

* Food:

There are a few student cafes on UCL's campus, and many affordable restaurants around the area.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

I felt very integrated because I lived in the accommodations with students who attend UCL full time.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

Coming from New York, London felt very safe. I never felt worried walking alone even at night.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

* Did your program have a foreign language component? No
