Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Good location, good rooms (had a single room) shared bathrooms-- terrible on weekends

* Food:

Catered halls but food was not very good-- also not open for many hours in a day (only from 7-9.30am and then 5-7.30 pm). limited options, so ended up eating out or cooking myself quite a bit.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

london is an expensive city to live in!!!

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? student oyster- get the weekly or monthly ones if you will be using the tube/buses a lot (walking is also a good option when the weather is good!) Primark is a great place to shop!

A Look Back

* What did you like most about the program?
  • London-- amazing city!!
  • Great psychology classes
  • UCL: great university, good location, amazing students
* What could be improved?
  • inclusion of the study abroad students with the local students (for psychology classes the affiliate students had a separate seminar so not much chance to interact with local psychology students)
  • perhaps Wellesley could have given us some money for spending, seeing as UCL tuition fee is cheaper than Wellesley tuition (I was told that some of my friends studying abroad in Spain were given some)
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? The British University system is very different to the US one! It is easy to let work pile up during the course of the year (as there are not too many deadlines) which leads to a lot of pressure during exam time!
