Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

Throughout the course of the semester, all class teaching methods and grading were similar to those back at The States. The classes we took are mostly with other international students and so we had a mix of really great international instructors as well. Some classes were actually really engaging, for example couple of our classes required us as a team to go out and explore shanghai and basically do a report about the tour. The best is that from TEAN, we actually have our little own mandarin class with only about 5-8 people all within the program, also the professor is very nice and patience to help with us with Chinese. Overall the experience is fantastic.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

The staffs was always accessible and willing to help or answering any questions.Since the program size was with just 25 of us, so all of the activities were fabulous setup for us, and make all the adventures stress less for all of us.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

the apartment is very FABULOUS, everything was setup and ready for us to move in at the day. Those apartments were newly renovated and safety protected with gates and guards within a beautiful apartment complex. also apartment was in close proximity to the Wal-Mart, University, and Line 10 metro stop- which was very convenient. Overall, the housing situation was great.

* Food:

Chinese Foods are Amazing!!!!!!!!!

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

the orientation in Beijing and the surprise trip to Inner Mongolia that Education Abroad Network offer to us was unforgettable life trips that you would never be able to experience it on your own. For example, climbing the Great Wall of China at 3am to see the sunrise or having breakfast on the middle of desert while the camels are starring at you…those activities are just so unforgettable. Also those activities gave us so many opportunities to meet new people, and of course I made so many new friends.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

No problems with health and safety.Basically just watch out for cars when crossing the street...

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Language

* Did your program have a foreign language component? Yes
Language acquisition improvement?

its definitely a great idea that Education Abroad Network have us pair up with a local Chinese roommate and with that we can basically communicate and practice Chinese everyday. also the Chinese locals I met in my everyday classes and even on the streets stores. a suggestion from me is that I would encourage others to just practice with the locals and try to use Chinese when ordering food.

If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition?
