Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The prep before the class was appropriate, however was disappointed in some of the companies we met with. I was very impressed with Laura, our primary tour guide, but was very disappointed with Erin from the Austral Group.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

The primary tour guide did a great job in trying to share the culture of Argentina with us, however there were issues with events planned by the Austral group that were disappointing. San Telmo was not at all as described - there were many other places I would have rather spent my time, the soccer game was a very expensive mistake as we paid $120 and did not even have seats, and the day at El Tigre it rained, so the boat trip was cold, wet and we were unable to see much of the area.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Great hotel.

* Food:

The restaurants where meals were provided by the Austral Group were disappointing.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? No

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

* Was housing included in your program cost? Yes
* Was food included in your program cost? No
Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? $600

Language

* Did your program have a foreign language component? No

A Look Back

* What did you like most about the program?
  • Laura
  • Opportunity to work in a team environment
  • Professor involvement
* What could be improved?
  • Better coordination of activities from Austral Group
  • Better communication of cultural differences from Austral Group
  • Better companies - none recommended doing business in Argentina
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? I wish I had known more about Buenos Aires before going from natives - it's different from the research I had done. It is not as safe as expected, and would have liked to have been told hta there was not much to do. The final schedule should have been set a little more in advance, and it would have been nice if the professors would have been able to have input since one of them had visited the city and likely knows what studnets would like to do.
