King's College London: London - Direct Enrollment & Exchange

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I learned to be independent.

Personal Information

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 2 weeks - 1 month

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

Much less rigorous than my Wellesley classes. Students often skipped lectures and seminars. I was not a fan of the exam schedule (wasn't posted until a month before the final exam making it difficult to plan for my trip home.)

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

My housing at Stamford Street was very centrally located but my room was very tiny and the shared kitchen was disgusting. It was difficult to get placed in a flat with regular King's students 1/2 way through the year. Housing was also very pricy for the type of room.

* Food:

There was no dining plan.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? No

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

London is an expensive city.

Language

* Did your program have a foreign language component? No
