Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The grading system is different than what I am used to here in the U.S. But there are a wide variety of courses available to take which is nice.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

Anita is absolutely the most helpful person I could have possibly asked for in helping me through the whole Study Abroad experience. She is one of the sweetest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting and her ability to make everyone feel welcomed and loved is astonishing.

* Housing:

* Food:

I thought that the food was very similar to that of the food here in the U.S.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Durban is a wonderful place to become integrated with people of all different races and cultures. It is also a wonderful place to go out and enjoy the town, and the beaches are beautiful!

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

Durban has the same safety issues that any big city does. If people are careful though, safety should not be an issue.

* Home Institution Advising:

How well did University of Minnesota - Twin Cities prepare and support you for your time abroad?

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

* If you could do it all over again, would you choose the same program? Yes
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? DO IT DO IT DO IT!
* What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile? Absolutely. The experience taught me a lot about the world, as well as about myself. It opened my eyes to the beauty found in other cultures and the friendships that can form anywhere worldwide.
