Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

I think the admin. did a great job with orientation, resource. Each classroom has repres that meet with the department heads to discuss each class's professor. The head of the depart. then met with the professors to discuss the student's feedback.

* Housing:

I lived in a kollegium, a danish dorm. I liked my room, had my own bathroom and room.

I lived off the metro, less than ten minutes from the heart of the city. It was amazing.

* Food:

Danish grocery stores are frustrating. Danish food isn't great, so I spent a good deal of my own money on food.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

I had a great time, two week break.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

Copenhagen is very safe, and medical insurance is provided.

* Home Institution Advising:

How well did Providence College prepare and support you for your time abroad?

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? The food in Denmark is very expensive.

Language

Language acquisition improvement?

Classes were taught in english. I can understand phrases/basic danish on the street, and can read basic signs, but I cannot speak Danish well.

A Look Back

* If you could do it all over again, would you choose the same program? Yes
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? I would highly recommend going out of your comfort zone and studying abroad.
* What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile? It has been great thus far, but I go back soon.
