Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
The classes were not very intense but were fine. A lot of the teachers have professional backgrounds and are not full time teachers so the classes can sometimes be disorganized and it was definitely an adjustment. Also there are a ton of group projects which can be frustrating if your grades count because most student are taking classes pass fail at DIS. |

There was a lot of handholding but individual request were not always appreciated. DIS is huge so there is a lot of infrastructure in place especially upon arrival. |

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
Yes my housing was amazing. I don't think LLC thing really happened but I had a great living situation. |

Government pays for all of it- never went hungry. |

* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
It took time but I did make danish friends and felt integrated. The program could have done more to help make this process happen more quickly. Everyone going should get super involved. |

How well were health issues addressed during the program? |

Denmark is the safest place I have ever been the biggest threat is biking! |

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
The government subsidizes a lot of stuff for students and public transportation is included in the tuition and is very accessible. DIS gives you a food stipend at the discount grocery which got me through most of the semester. That being said Denmark is an expensive country with very high sales taxes. |
| Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | Bring as much as you can with you because buying things is expensive. There are great student discounts at the gyms if you shop around. Lastly plan your trips far in advance and take advantage of DIS lead trips (they are a ton of fun and very economically) |

| Comments: | The class is really interesting because Denmark has unique health care system that is a huge part of their society and something they are very proud of. The class has two exams which are detailed but closely follow class discussions. There is also a paper which requires data but the teachers will provide help. The class requires that post to a class blog before every class which actually makes the in-class discussion more dynamic. |
