Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

I was very happy with my overall educational experience, mostly so at my host university. The work load was much lighter than I was used to, but I enjoyed the lectures and subject matter of my classes very much.

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? The advice I can give is to bring more money that you expect to spend, to use for emergency situations.
