Review Your Program
|
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
the workload was less stressful throughout the semester but more stressful around finals. I liked the teaching styles better because there was a small group and a big lecture for every class. |
|
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
They had a great international office with very helpful people. |
| * Housing: |
|
| * Food: |
I didn't have an dietary restrictions. Eat Kebabs (different then the grilled meat on a stick) and try potatoes wedges with sweet chili and sour cream!!! Garlic balls are also the best thing ever invented. |
|
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
We went to Fraser Island through the school. |
|
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
| * Safety: |
There was always safety patrols all over campus and also little 911 telephones all over. |
|
* Home Institution Advising:

|
Finances
|
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
|
| Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | It would depend on if that week I was travelling or not. It varied week to week. |
| Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | I wish I would have known about class expenses, like for the outdoor education class there were a lot of extra expenses that I didn't plan for. If I have advice for anyone going I would suggest to take the amount you think you need and double it. It's always better to have more then less, you would never want to miss out on an experience because of financial issues. Money at some points in my trip stressed me out. |
Language
| How would you rate your language skills at the beginning of the program? | Fluent |
| If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition? |
