This unique three-week program is offered by The Mediterranean Center for Arts & Sciences. Students will spend three weeks working on site, recording their findings in multifunctional classrooms at MCAS, discussing the main issues of field archaeology and engaging in cutting edge digital archaeology. This program is offered in collaboration with the cultural heritage office in Syracuse, the provincial authority that manages archaeological sites and monuments.

In addition to first-hand experience in archaeological excavation and study, students will be able to enjoy many of the wonders of Sicily, from cultural and historical monuments that span over 2,500 years, to spectacular ecological and natural sites. And we should not forget modern Sicily with its people and Mediterranean customs.
