Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

There was only 1 paper and 1 test for my entire grade, and the professors did not offer much help for either.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

They overlapped trips for us with school events, causing us to miss out. Their grading policy put psychology students at a disadvantage.

* Housing:

Single dorm room with attached bathroom in a flat of 8 people with a shared kitchen

The dorm was new so it was nice and clean. It was relatively near to classes.

* Food:

I cooked for myself for the most part

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

They had some events for students like trips which were fun.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

I had no medical or safety issues arise.

* Home Institution Advising:

How well did Tufts University prepare and support you for your time abroad?

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? About 50 pounds ($100)
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Traveling was expensive. Set aside money for that if you are on a budget.

A Look Back

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? Be aware that it is almost an hour travel from London. And that you will receive very little help or interaction from professors. If you come in the Spring you may not have much of a chance to meet British students unless you join a sports team or are housed with them. If you know these things going in, you will have a great time.
