Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

Very challenging, but I learned and grew a lot.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

Good communication while there; could've given us more housing/orientation details beforehand.

* Housing:

Everyone had a single; safe; had to buy sheets/bedding and dishes, pots, etc., though a lot was borrowed as well.

* Food:

No meal plan; cooked for myself.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Several events were offered in which I chose not to participate due to costs. (Independently with friends: Apple Day at Borough Market, Guy Fawkes Day, outdoor markets, Trafalgar Day Parade, museums, half-price shows, Covent Garden, pubs, trips to Ediburgh, Paris, Versailles, and Disneyland Paris, Harry Potter premiere, parks, concerts)

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

Neither were ever an issue.

* Home Institution Advising:

How well did Providence College prepare and support you for your time abroad?

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Give yourself a budget.

A Look Back

* If you could do it all over again, would you choose the same program? Yes
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? Go go go! Don't let anything stop you! You can only grow and learn; I have never heard of anyone coming back with an overall negative abroad experience. There is so much to gain and absolutely nothing to lose.
* What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile? Absolutely. You gain so much self-awareness, as a person, student, and American citizen, perspective, resourcefulness, confidence, and academic and social knowledge.
