Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

I learned more from having a summer job than from the coursework.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

The intern coordinators were very helpful.

* Housing:

The location was great, right in central London. The dorms were typical dorm rooms with kitchens on every floor.

* Food:

I cooked my own food.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

I made some very good friends in my program and was able to go out and experience the city with them a lot.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

Health was not an issue. When safety was a problem it was promptly addressed.

* Home Institution Advising:

How well did Tufts University prepare and support you for your time abroad?

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? It was fairly expensive to live in London due to what the exchange rate was at the time ($2 to the pound), but it was not hard to manage other than that.
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Ethernet cable. Sheets and towels.

Language

How would you rate your language skills at the beginning of the program? None

A Look Back

* If you could do it all over again, would you choose the same program? Yes
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? Don't be upset if the internship you get assigned to isn't quite what you thought it would be... living in London is what is what the experience is really about.
* What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile? I loved my study abroad experience. Made friends and felt like I was an independent adult in a city for the first time.
