Our internship program is an exciting addition to the educational programs at universities in Ireland. The chance to work and study in Dublin provides one of the best study abroad experiences available.

Whatever your major you can gain valuable experience in a variety of business and industry environments such as a commodities brokerage, an auction house or an advertising agency. You might pursue research in a placement that complements your major, explore non-profit management or support administrative activities in a government agency. In addition to your internship placement you will also write a substantial paper or complete an independent project, giving you the opportunity to develop your research skills and reflect upon the related work experience.

In addition to the internship and academic project course, INPR 310 Work in Thought and Action, students enroll in three other courses. Two courses run for the first six weeks of the semester: DUII PSIR 330 Ireland: Economy and Society and DUII ECEU 320 Globalisation: The EU and Ireland. The third course, DUII SOSM 360 Research Methodologies for the Irish Workplace, runs for the entire semester.

The internship placement comprises the final eight weeks of the program. Students are responsible for preparing written assignments and conducting research during the placement, including the independent project, which is due at the conclusion of the semester.
