Review Your Program
|
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
The workload was doable. I still had plenty of time to hang out with friends and explore London. For the amount of credit I received, I did significantly less work than I would at KSU. I liked that the class sizes were small and our teacher allowed us to just talk and ask questions along the way. |
|
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
Everything was organized and everyone seemed to be knowledgeable about everything. Whenever I had a question, I felt very comfortable going and asking someone who was in charge. |
| * Housing: |
I liked that our housing was outside the main part of London. It felt safe and still had everything we needed close by,without all the traffic and business. |
| * Food: |
It was pretty much just like America, only more expensive. |
|
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
Boat trips are the best! Best sites at night by far! |
|
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
| * Safety: |
Remember that they drive on the opposite side of the road, so triple check for cars before crossing the road. |
|
* Home Institution Advising:
How well did Kansas State University prepare and support you for your time abroad? |
|
Finances
|
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
|
| Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | 150-200 |
| Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | Cook for yourself! You save soooo much money. Also, walk rather than use the tube. You see more than dark tunnels this way, and save money :) |
Language
| How would you rate your language skills at the beginning of the program? | None |

A Look Back
| * If you could do it all over again, would you choose the same program? | Yes |
| * What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? | London is the perfect place to go if it is your first time abroad since there is no language barrier and little cultural differences. |
| * What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile? | You grow up a lot when you have to depend on yourself for food, transportation, daily activities, etc - especially in a new country. |
