Costa Rica is one of the world's most ecologically varied countries and a magnet for those interested in wildlife and the natural world. The diversity in Costa Rica's climates, from the Caribbean coast to the high cloud forests, coupled with the relaxed attitude of the "Tico" population, make it an ideal place to experience all that Central America has to offer. Spend a summer studying abroad with AIFS in Costa Rica and exploring this remarkably diverse little country.

Both inside and outside the classroom students will have the opportunity to participate in a rich program of cultural activities organized by the University and the AIFS Resident Director. There is always something going on and something to do on weekends. Activities may include:

* Tours in and around San José
* Tropical dance lessons
* Sports
* Visits to local attractions including:
o museums
o markets
* Performances including:
o theater
o concerts
* Participation in a conversation partner program with Costa Rican students

Excursions included in program fee:
* Arenal Volcano, Hot Springs and Monteverde Cloud Forest
* Manuel Antonio National Park
