How much international exposure did you have prior to this program?

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

* Housing:

* Food:

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Take advantage of them! they are free and often wonderful activities/ opportunities

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

Prague is very safe- less pick-pocketing than the rest of europe and the English speaking health clinic AIFS works with is wonderful although it is more expensive than in the US. There were no vaccines I needed for this program.

* Home Institution Advising:

How well did Providence College prepare and support you for your time abroad?

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Just that many things here that are not something Czech people traditionally eat or use may cost more than they do in the US and for full comfort you may still want to buy them (peanut butter, makeup, you cannot get canned soup, american brand toiletries, water and soda is more expensive than beer in all restaurants and in most stores. )

Language

* Did your program have a foreign language component? Yes
Language acquisition improvement?

Everyone spoke English, but knowing Czech helped alot

A Look Back

* If you could do it all over again, would you choose the same program? Yes
* What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile? It was definitely worthwhile. I learned a ton about culture, myself and just living slightly out of your comfort zone. Traveling most weekends gave me the opportunity to see many places I probably would have never otherwise seen. Academically it made me much more awake of European nations, cultures and how they view Americans.
