Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The workload was no more than my home university. Most courses however had only a few things to base your grade on (ie: one midterm and one final, or a paper and a final). Although this was different than my classes I take at home, I still did well and enjoyed this setup.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

Hard to talk to, not very personable, and usually quite rude. If ever there wass a problem, they would try to hide it and not let anyone know about it, belittling the problem. Not a fan.

* Housing:

Gross. It was in a nice neighborhood, but if that's all they can afford, instead of the upkeep, then it's not worth it. I would have rather been in a lower class neighborhood so that the school could afford to update the dorms and living conditions.

* Food:

Not many options and the meal plan did not include much. I found myself having to go out to eat much more than I would want to especially since it was quite pricey.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Amazing! I met great friends, although they were all American. The full-time students tended to keep to themselves.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

Fine, except for the bed bugs that affected most people, and the lack of assistance from administration.

* Home Institution Advising:

How well did Quinnipiac University prepare and support you for your time abroad?

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

A Look Back

* If you could do it all over again, would you choose the same program? Yes
* What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile? Definitely. I learned so much more about the world and about myself. The experience was totally worth while and I am so glad I didn't let my nerves get in the way!

Comments: this was unlike any other course I have taken before. It encouraged me to think in a different way while pushing me to learn so much more than in anyother class. I studied well in advance to prepare myself for tests which benefitted me in the long run. This was my favorite class of the semester and despite my worry about it in the beginning, I ended up doing much better than I thought simply because of that fear. I would recommend it to anyone. Professor Berguno is a very intelligent man.
