Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

Our Resident Director was amazing and so helpful! Sometimes though the school was just not good. I felt like my French didn't really improve and I wish that our classes had been with French students, not just other foreign students.

* Housing:

I just wish I had lived closer to city center, but what can ya do, my resident director can't place all of us in city center.

* Food:

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

* Home Institution Advising:

How well did Drake University prepare and support you for your time abroad?

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? sometimes clothes are expensive and try not to go out and eat a lot if you host family is willing to cook for you.

Language

* Did your program have a foreign language component? Yes
Language acquisition improvement?

My host family, at school, and when we went out to nightlife. Many people wanted to practice their english with us so it was hard to sometimes speak French. I also spoke English every time I hung out with another student from my program.

If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition?

* What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile? Yes, I learned about myself a lot but the classes were completely useless to my major.
