Mike Stone - Co-Founder, President, and Chief Marketing Officer
Michael Stone is a 2007 graduate of Tufts University with a BA in Psychology and a minor in Communications and Media Studies. Michael studied abroad in Talloires, France as well as Melbourne, Australia, and helped teach and administer a Tufts study abroad program in France. He has an extensive international background in the marketing industry through his experience in account management at Arnold Advertising, in Boston and Melbourne, Australia. Michael was also a Fellow in the Spring 2007 StartingBloc Institute for Social Innovation, where he was a winning team member of the Social Innovation Competition and a co-founder of DisasterLink, a natural disaster relief satellite communication system. Michael is excited to couple his experience in marketing and social entrepreneurship with his passion for travel at Abroad101.
Adam Miller - Co-Founder, CEO, and Chief Technology Officer
Adam Miller is a 2007 graduate of The Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics. He began providing computer consulting services at the age of thirteen and has been providing technology consulting services to early-stage companies under the business name Vident Technology for the past few years. Vident Technology operates under the umbrella of The Newport Beach Company, Inc., which aims to become a leader in web start-up incubation. Miller is the former Director of Business Development for CPI Interactive, a Southern California business process management and web technology firm. Miller also sat on the board of Campus Venture Network, operator of StudentBusinesses.com, which was recently sold to the Kauffman Foundation.
Mark Lurie - Co-Founder
Mark Lurie is a 2007 graduate of Harvard College. He has initiated and led several ventures including a summer storage service at Harvard grossing $70,000 in FYE2005. In these ventures Mark managed employees and oversaw the development of an e-commerce platform. In 2004, Mark was selected as a semi-finalist in the Harvard Business School 2004 Business Plan Competition. Mark also has experience in financial services, through which he gained familiarity with a range of financial instruments; In 2006 he marketed and traded interest rate derivatives and currency derivatives as a Summer Analyst at Deutsche Bank. Mark has been accepted to Harvard Business School and has deferred for two years. He is excited to be working on Abroad101!
Danielle Ain - VP of HR, Study Abroad Analyst
Danielle Ain is a 2009 graduate of Hamilton College in Clinton, NY. She graduated with a major in Sociology and a minor in Philosophy. During the spring semester of her Junior year she studied abroad in Prague, Czech Republic. While there, she traveled to over twelve different cities and developed a passion for traveling, Czech art and international politics. Danielle is very excited to be working at Abroad101 where she can incorporate her love of foreign cultures, learning, and higher education into her everyday life.
Marc MacLeod - Software Developer
Marc MacLeod graduated from Tufts University in 2010 with a dual degree in Economics and Computer Science. He incorporated, built, and ran his own online e-commerce business for 2 years in high school, before working as an Engineer at Boylston Technology Group in Boston and as a Research Systems Intern at GMO. In addition to his passion for sports cars, Marc is interested in entrepreneurship and the social web.
Jenna Lashley - Sales Director
Jenna Lashley is a 2009 graduate of Emerson College with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing Communications. She has worked in sales and marketing for a variety of publications including: Vogue, Men’s Vogue,The New Yorker, Rolling Stone, IN New York Magazine and Where Magazine. In her Junior year of College, Jenna studied abroad in London where she began building her global perspective of sales, marketing and public relations. Her Senior year, she studied Irish History in Galway and Dublin where she developed a keen understanding and interest in Irish/British relations. Jenna is thrilled to be in the dot-com space and working on a product that influences college students! Jenna’s most recent trip was to Scotland where she backpacked for 12 days looking for the Loch Ness Monster. She is sad to report, Nessy was not found. Next trip...Italy.
Michelle McCormack - Education Abroad Consultant
Michelle McCormack is a graduate student of Intercultural Relations at Lesley University. She graduated with a BA in Philosophy from Emory University in 2005. She has studied abroad in England, Argentina, Costa Rica and Italy. After graduating, she got her TEFL certificate and taught in Spain. She then spent two years living and working down under in Australia and New Zealand. Most adventurous accomplishment: hiking the Bibbulmun track in Australia end-to-end for 600 miles. Future goals: to visit all 50 states and every continent, and to become a paraglider pilot. Next international trip: Brazil.
Jason Fenner - Director of Business Development
Jason Fenner is a 2003 graduate of Villanova and completed his MA in International Affairs from The George Washington University in 2005. He has a wide range of experience in study abroad and higher education, which includes serving as a researcher for a congressional commission on study abroad (The Lincoln Commission), policy analyst for the Association of Public and Land-Grant Universities, and Assistant Director of International Programs at Trinity College. He also served as program administrator for the Trinity College Rome Campus. Jason studied abroad in France three times (Dijon & Aix-en-Provence undergrad, Sciences-Po Paris during his MA).
Rachel Wudarczyk - Sales & Communications Specialist
Rachel Wudarczyk graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and a minor in Studio Art. During the spring semester of her Junior year, Rachel had the opportunity to study abroad in Rome, Italy. There, she was fortunate enough to travel throughout the country visiting many different Italian cities while thoroughly enjoying endless amounts of ravioli, cannoli, and pizza. Studying abroad in Italy ultimately sparked her passion for international travel and culture. Rachel hopes to visit many different countries in the future, beginning with Croatia and making her way around eastern Europe. In the meantime, she is excited to be part of such a passionate and exciting team at Abroad101 where she can help encourage more students to study abroad!
Tom Stuart - Sales Account Executive
Tom Stuart graduated from Tufts University in 2007 with a degree in Economics and Entrepreneurial Leadership Studies. An auto industry fan, Tom went to work for Toyota Motor Sales, USA at their Torrance, CA headquarters prior to joining Abroad101. He was promoted to the New York Region office, and then to a position as dealership consultant for Toyota. During college, Tom studied abroad in Galway, Ireland, interned in Singapore for an engineering software company, and later interned for a technology consulting firm in Bangalore, India. His amazing experiences studying, working, (and vacationing!) abroad made it impossible for him to pass on the chance to work for a startup like Abroad101!
Tami Bolk - Education Abroad Consultant
Tami is also a graduate student in the Intercultural Relations program at Lesley University. Two weeks after graduating from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in 2010, she was on her way to South Korea where she taught English to employees at Samsung Electronics. She had the experience of a lifetime learning more about her ethnic roots, as she mastered the art of chopsticks and developed a loyal appetite for spicy foods. Her stint in Korea paired with endless stories and thrills from a semester abroad in New Zealand sparked her passion and desire to work in the international education field. Moving to Boston allowed her to continue that quest as she loves working with the awesomely fun, supportive, and dedicated team at Abroad101!
