The University of Cape Town is South Africa’s oldest university, and one of Africa’s leading teaching and research institutions, nestled on the slopes of Table Mountain in the beautiful Cape Peninsula. The city offers a unique introduction to Africa, a changing landscape of multicultural contrasts and communities. The city has a well-developed infrastructure, with a modern health care system. The challenge provided by “one city, many cultures” opens up experiences and opportunities for the thoughtful student among a vibrant academic community of more than 18,000 students. UCT is also a major center for research and has exchange agreements and links with universities throughout the African continent and around the world.

Everything beyond interstudy and UCT was awesome. South Africa is wonderful, I'd go back in a heartbeat. However, as for dealing with either of those programs - I could do without that again.

Absolutely worthwhile. My time in Africa had a profound impact on me, but you might have to leave Cape Town for your world to be rocked. Even if you never left Cape Town, though, you could hang out on beaches and in botanical gardens with interesting and smart people in a really amazing city and eat really fabulous food and go to the most gorgeous university in the world...
