Copenhagen: A cosmopolitan delight that made my summer smile.

Studying abroad was one of the best things I have ever done. It opened my eyes more than I could have ever imagined and allowed me to cross the boundaries of my own cultural norms and explore something entirely different and foreign. I now have the travel bug; I want to do it again and again and see the whole world. Copenhagen was one of the coolest cities I visited while ...

Going abroad helped me realize that I want to be able to travel more in the States because there are so many places in America that I haven't been to. But of course, I want to return to Europe as well!

It was extremely worthwhile!! I wouldn't trade the experience for anything. I had never been out of the United States and it really showed me how different the world really is. I loved seeing how relaxed and at ease the citizens of Denmark really are and it showed me why Danes are the happiest people in the world. I made some great friends that I will cherish for a lifetim...

I have an interest in international comparative medical education so seeing how Danish medicine differed from American medicine was great, from the actual practice of medicine all the way to governmental political structures and policy in place. Not only have I become more aware globally but even within the US because American students came from all over, though typically ...

Being a part of DIS has fortified my decision to pursue medicine, but with a different twist. Rather than continue straight to medical school, I would like to gain more international experience in the field of health sciences and pursue a Masters degree at the University of Copenhagen. My cultural awareness has definitely increased as well, as it would for any observant st...

I would recommend studying abroad to every and any student. I think it is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to explore europe. You are surrounded by people who are equally interested in looking for adventure, exploration, good friends, and a good time. I think my experience in Copenhagen is priceless. Not only would I do the whole experience over but I wish I could do it a...

My experience at DIS was probably one of the highlights of my college life. I made amazing friends through my classes and traveling, had a great relationship with my host family, and fell in love with Copenhagen. Because Copenhagen is not a touristy city, I truly felt immersed in the culture and by the end of the semester I felt that I had gained a rich understanding of wh...

I love Denmark and after spending time here, I think I would like to attend graduate school here. The weather is terrible, but the society is pretty great.

Very worthwhile. I gained a great knowledge and appreciation for travel and people you never thought you'd meet. It is such an ironic experience given the random placement of students from all corners of the world put into a temporary situation such as learning to get accustomed to foreign living. When really, I learned more that a majority of the people in this world work...

I have no regrets from my semester at all; it was one of the most fun and incredible five months of my life. I visited over 10 countries and met people who hopefully I will keep in contact with for a very long time. My perspective on my academic interests and personal goals also changed. I have already traveled widely before this semester and lived abroad, so I wouldn't sa...

Classes were good and it was nice to have professors who were from Europe but they were not extremely challenging. Some professors had different expectations than American Universities but it was fairly easy to get used to these explanations.

This was a great program that gave me a global outlook. I would strongly recommend this program if you care about the academics abroad and are unsure about being completely imersed in another culture. It was well worth the money.

This is a really wonderful program and Copenhagen is such a fun city. The Danes are super nice, and they all speak flawless English. Travel out of Copenhagen is a little more difficult than maybe from other places in Europe like Paris or Berlin, but it's such a nice, hidden treasure that makes it worth the extra money. Also, the three week travel break was amazing. The bes...

Yes---traveling was very rewarding and DIS does give you three weeks so that was very nice. Copenhagen is a beautiful, amazing city and I'm really glad that I studied there. Danish is difficult to learn and not necessary to learn because all Danish people speak English as well--so don't take Danish unless your university requires that you do.
