Mali is an inland country in western Africa neighboring countries such as Algeria, Niger, Guinea, and Senegal. The majority of the population lives in the southern region of the country, near the Niger and Senegal rivers. Mali is a rather larger African country, similar in size to South Africa. The tropical climate of Mali receives an insignificant amount of rainfall, which makes droughts a very common occurrence. Mali’s main industry is agriculture with it’s largest crop being cotton.
