I enjoyed that the program was a mix of university classes and program classes. This made it easier because there was still some similarity to the american university system. I found the work load to be very different because there are not many assigments you have to turn in, but there is a lot that they expect you to do on your own to be prepared. view full review

Out of the four courses I took at the University of Barcelona, I honestly only enjoyed one of the classes. I felt that I had truly learned and retained information from the class. That is not to say the other classes were useless. I had an unpleasant experience in terms of academics. CIEE did not accurately advise me and I ended up taking classes that were way beyong my level. Professors in the university are not very accessible. The work load was managable--only final exams--though this puts a lot of stress at the end of the semester. view full review

It was very worthwhile experience. I learned about myself, the culture and Spanish life. I highly recommend going abroad. Not only does it broaden your horizons, but it's such a unique point in your life in that you have a built it time to explore, travel, have fun, and engage in the world around you with the encouragement of your university and parents!! It was definitely worthwhile, and one of the most amazing experiences of my life. I realized how just the small things in life affect you in ways you don't even know until they are completely changed on you. I think everyone should study abroad. It really puts our way of life in the U.S. into perspective. I've always thought it was important to know a different languag... view full review
