My spanish improved significantly in the short time I was there. I learned more than in two semesters of spanish courses on college.

This trip was worth every penny. Not only did expand my ability to speak Spanish, but I was able to make new friends who live in Costa Rica. I was able to experience a different life which made me even more curious about the world. And I will be a more confident explorer after my experience with CPI.

I think… expecting to come back fluent is a stretch. You will learn a lot but not everything, so it makes you want to keep learning even after you are back.

This experience was totally worthwhile. I learned so much about the country, have gained a new appreciation of those from different countries, have been humbled by all that we have here in the US, and gave me an eagerness to continue practicing the Spanish language. This has confirmed even more that I would like to work overseas some day.

It was definitely worthwhile. I gained a new appreciation of Hispanic Culture, particularly the "tico" or Costa Rican culture. And of course, gained some new skills in the Spanish language.

Very good program, and very easy to get things done. Easy to learn a language when there is not a lot of stress with traveling etc.

My program abroad experience was definitely worthwhile. I learned or better my spanish skills and learned how people live and act in a different country. I got to see some amazing views, waterfalls in old volcano craters, lava coming from an active volcano and much more. You get a lot of exercise so take good shoes for walking. The foods are different but some are pretty g...

My study abroad experience was definitely worthwhile. I learned a great deal of Spanish and saw how another culture lived. I was able to gain first hand knowledge about how people outside the U.S. live and how different things can be. Through my interactions with the locals, I grew to respect the Costa Rican people and their way of life. I am now much more open and fin...

I gained the ability to speak spanish as well as the skills to cope and fit in with a new culture. The worst part about the experience was that I had to come back to the U.S. and Im sure most people who go will feel the same way.

My study abroad experience in Costa Rica was definitely worthwhile. I not only gained a lot of experience with the language and overall improved my Spanish-speaking skills more than I ever thought I would have, but I also built priceless relationships with the Costa Rican people, as well as other students from around the world. My instructors were wonderful. They were so h...

Yes. Definitely helped to improve my Spanish. It would have helped for CPI to have more computers available, not just for e mail but to do the required journals for NMSU. And, it was virtually impossible to attach and send these via the NMSU e mail system - I ended up using Yahoo to get this done.
