It is one of the largest universities in Australia, with over 47,000 students, including more than 10,000 international students from more than 100 different countries.

The University of Sydney has a worldwide reputation for high-quality teaching, and is consistently ranked amongst the top universities in the Asia-Pacific. It is a member of the Group of 8 (a group of Australia’s major research universities). It is one of only three Australian members of the Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU) – a group of prestigious universities with members from Asia, the United States and South America. It is also a key member of the Academic Consortium 21, which encourages global cooperation for the benefit of higher education and world and regional society.

Be prepared to spend more then you budgeted, Australia is just more expensive then America. Also to try things you might not have done while at home, studying abroad is a time to discover and learn more about yourself and the world. view full review

Sydney Uni was really tough... not that Pitt doesn't have difficult aspects, but at the time, USyd was ranked amongst the best universities in the world. view full review

I had astounding professors. One of mine told us about writing an essay, "if you're handing this paper in early, you're not exploring the country enough." The courses I chose to take while overseas were geared towards study abroad students, so I had the opportunity to learn about Australia's culture and history, rather than picking up where I left off at UConn. My experience abroad was absolutely worthwhile. I learned so much in Australia, both about its culture and people and about myself. This experience has taught me to put myself out there more and not be afraid to try new things. It has also been invaluable in showing me what's important in life. Semester Abroad in Australia Taught Me to Live Out Loud.

I enojyed the teaching method at USYD because I am a lecture student. I benefit best from having teachers lecture with power points as a supplement. However, the grading system is much different and there is no inbetween. It is either pass or fail. Teachers from large lecture (500+) students are not as available as they are at UH. view full review
