New Zealand: Never A Dull Moment

The class sizes were very small, which helped professors and students with focus and direction. Studio classes were broken up into different groups so that you shared your studios with just those groups and were all joined together for larger lectures. I love everythign about AUT. The staff, students, and university is top of the line at an affordable cost. Its like a fun Harvard for cheap. They are very understanding, sensitive to people of color, religion, and sex. They also allow you to indulge in their cultures while expressing and teaching them yours. New Zealand: Do everything you can, don't leave with regrets!

The academic system in NZ is much different than in the States. For example, the US has many general education courses and it is recommended that we take them abroad if we go. However, NZ does not have general education courses. All the courses are specific to a major. If you're ready to take advantage of the trip of a lifetime, go to New Zealand. You can surf, ski, skydive, bungee jump...all on the same day! Being in Auckland is the perfect place to study abroad because a) the weather is awesome, b) it's close to so many cool places you can check out on the weekends, c) you're within short walking distance of anything you would need. ... view full review

Compared to the the system I am used to here in America the school schedule was very appealing, especially being a study abroad trip. The classes I took were only held once per week so I was able to arrange my schedule so that I only had class M-W. Internship in the beautiful and adventurous New Zealand that I will never forget!

The experience was way worthwhile and I miss New Zealand so much that my heart aches when I look at my photos. Yes, I learned so much about myself and have changed in more ways than one. I have a better understand of how sometimes life just needs to be taken slower- New Zealand never has the "rush" aspect to life. It's different yet amazing. view full review
