Whether you want to gain financial experience in a commodities brokerage, work in an auction house or at an advertising agency, explore non-profit management or assist a British MP in the Houses of Parliament, our internships consist of much more than mere observation or filing paperwork. In addition to your 3-day-a-week internship placement you will also write a substantial paper or complete an independent project. The project should demonstrate resourcefulness, independent thought, an understanding of the issues confronting your particular industry or profession and a mature work ethic.

While our internship program is not for the timid and will require good time management skills, the chance to work and study in London provides one of the best study abroad experiences available.

London Internship Program - A Break From the Norm

Overall I found the London atmosphere a lot more open in terms of education. The one British class I did get to take I found challenging, but insightful, and the professor gave me a unique insight. Because of my internship the workload was most likely less than a full time student would've face, but working four times a week definitely didn't make it easy. I only wish I ha... view full review

The Internship is great. The teaching is pretty good. The academic essay which is 7500 words is an absolute joke, nobody actually wants to do it, it's a horrible chore. The essay also can have nothing to do with your internship as long as you write 7500 words and is apparently weighted higher than the internship itself. It's hard not to love London, just try and find any other program than Arcadia to go with. Traveling is easy, the people and culture are awesome, and there's never a shortage of things to do ! view full review

The Arcadia London Summer Internship was just OK

The workload was reasonable. There were two classes associated with the internship. One course was based around the internship and the only required work was a 3000 word essay on a subject related to the internship. The diversity course was not engaging, and I felt like a lot of the information was stuff I had learned in my business courses at UT. The internship, on the other hand, was very educational, and I felt like I took a lot from it because I genuinely wanted to put my full effort into it. Yes. My decision to study abroad was one of the best decisions of my life. Working in Parliament gave me a behind the scenes look to the inner workings of UK government. I recommend this program to anyone interested in politics. I gained an invaluable insight into being part of the work force. view full review

I gained more from the experience than I can put into words. Before I left, I talked to friends who studied abroad and all they could say were positive things. I am in a very similar situation. All I can say about studying abroad is: go, do it, I have never met anyone who regretted their experience. view full review
