Academically, JCU was much different than Quinnipiac. It was about 1/6th of the size and didn't offer nearly as many sections of classes or different types of classes as QU. But I was able to take the same courses I would have taken at QU for my spring semester. There wasn't as much academic support as I was used to, but I was taking much more difficult classes than mos... view full review

Studying abroad made me more aware of different ways of thinking and living. It put everything in a new perspective. It made me more open-minded. It made me more self-efficient and more willing to explore and take risks. Living in Italy gave me a greater understanding of culture and the differences between people outside of the United States. When abroad, be sure to take advantage of everything that your host country has to offer, whether it be the food, geography, people, or anything! My strongest words of wisdom: go. Just go! Studying abroad *will* change your life as well. I can hardly contain my enthusiasm for studying abroad in Rome with API. The workload was relatively easy however there was a lot of group work for my business classes and it was often difficult to meet in groups or be on the same page for certain projects. Overall I felt the reduced workload gave me more time to experience the country and travel. view full review

Italy is one of the most popular countries to study abroad in and for good reason. As with any large decision, I would advice students to look into API with as much thought and consideration as all the other programs, compare and contrast them and choose the one that best fits their needs.
