Founded in 1948, the ILCF (Institut de Langue et Cultures Fraçaises) is a department of the Catholic University of Paris (Institut Catholique de Paris). The ILCF welcomes more than 2,000 foreign students each year from more than 60 different nationalities. Students can choose from courses in French language and culture, or international studies and business (some in English as well). Students also have the option of taking courses with French students.

Summer in Paris-Nothing Could Be Better

There was barely any homework and tests and quizzes were very straightforward. All the information was clearly presented and there were absolutely no surprises on the tests. I would compare the work load to a high school foreign language class. I was in beginner 3 and it was information that I had learned my junior year in high school. Because the professor was used to having students from so many different countries, she had to be able to teach at a basic level for more complicated subjects. Because of her skill of that, learning there was so much easier because the professor had to be used to explaining to different types of students. view full review

I absolutely loved my summer in Paris. It was definitely a challenging experience at first, adapting to a brand new culture that I hadn't had the opportunity to experience yet, but once the initial culture shock wore off I came to realize that I actually really appreciated French culture.
