The University Autònoma of Barcelona was founded in 1968 and is well known for its international profile. API students complete classes in English and in Spanish with mostly American students at two different campuses. The Sant Pau campus is located in a renovated UNESCO World Heritage building near the famous Sagrada Familia church in the Eixample neighborhood of Barcelona. The Eixample campus is located within a 5 minute walk of the Sant Pau campus.

The workload was surprisingly larger than I thought it would be. I didn't have any "busy work", but I had a few large group projects that were a ton of work. Despite this, I was never loaded down with homework. The grading system was very different than at home - I still haven't gotten ANY grades back. view full review

The staff at Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona were really helpful to international students. The classes were challenging without being stressful and really allowed us to enjoy our entire experience rather than being worried about tests and schoolwork. The grading standards were similar to my home university but the test schedule was different as we only had midterms and ... view full review

Take a part of everything. meet locals, find a bar or a restaurant that you go to and be friends with those that work there. develop great relationships with the students on the trip, but also the people from where you're traveling. Never stop trying to learn and discover new things. Take a part of every opportunity that the program gives you. view full review

Barcelona, Spain, was probably the best decision i have ever made in my life. They all say that when you go abroad or perhaps just Barcelona, that you are running away from something. Sometimes it's true, but sometimes you need to just leave and get away from America to appreciate, what you have at home, change, group up become mature and independent.
