At my host University as well as other American Universities there are tutors that help in a variety of subjects. At UvA there was no such thing as a tutor or someone to help you with the big final essay assignment which accounted for a majority of your grade, The professors could only help you so much and did not thoroughly explain their assignments to the class or gave comments for students to improve. I learned a lot in the course Nuclear Proliferation it was such an amazing course as well as the professor. However, the other parts of the school system was not very helpful or allowed a student to feel they would receive a higher grade.

I needed help with a tutor and was not given any help until the last minute when I couldn't use the tutor's anymore because my paper's were due. The staff knew and helped out where ever they could and did so in the most appropriate of ways.

Yes, the staff provided food for students who had dietary restrictions. The food was usually always delicious too and very fresh!

In Amsterdam the city tolerate's much and police are everywhere the city is extremely safe and most of the time you travel on bicycle so you can bike away if trouble arises. The city also has a great health care system compared to majority of first world countries in the world.

**Words of wisdom:

Always have fun and meet new people. Everyone i met was very nice with great heads on their shoulders. Always be happy and remember life is short so make the best of each day abroad. Amsterdam is more for the easy going and caring people that just want to have adventures and experience all the beauty life could offer.

My study abroad experience taught me a lot about myself and about my friends in addition to my life. I do not think I would be able to alter my views in a better way if I did not go abroad and have such a wonderful experience.
