I learned patience. not everyone thinks or speaks the way i do. I learned to not be afraid to try new things and explore new places. Studying abroad will put you in so many situations that are outside of your comfort zone and it is essential to adapt, the RIGHT way. Workload was fairly easy but I still felt that I learned a lot. I only had class three days a week and many of my classes were focused on Czech language, art and culture so I found all of them very interesting view full review

Prague is one of the most beautiful cities in the entire world and the AIFS program is a great way to experience it. The location of the Czech Republic is perfect for students who want to travel to other countries, and it is very easy to go for weekend visits to places such as Germany, Austria, Hungary, Croatia, Turkey, Italy, and the list goes on. I almost went to other, more "traditional" study abroad places, but now that I have been to those other places while studying in Prague, they honestly pale in comparison. The workload is very different from American schools, with little homework and then very time-consuming final papers. I would advise students to balance out their work and begin final papers as soon as possible. It was definitely worthwhile. I learned a ton about culture, myself and just living slightly out of your comfort zone. Traveling most weekends gave me the opportunity to see many places I probably would have never otherwise seen. The education system was more or less the same as you would find here. Some professors deeply encouraged cultural interaction and devised a lenient workload to accomodate that. Others made you work just as hard as you possible could for the class. Neither was a bad experience and I feel like I gained a great deal. view full review

The workload in general was tolerable, though I only had to read things for class the next day and show up and pay attention to lectures. Towards the end, I finally had to write decent sized papers for three classes. The teaching methods, overall, weren't that different from my college. I gained a lot more independence, because at PC (and probably at most colleges) you are living apart from your parents but you still live in this bubble community where you're on a campus and everything you need is right there. Prague is the best city I went to in Europe. It is an experience you will not get in any other country or typical abroad country. If you can not deal with a little adventure it is not for you. The benefits of Prague's central location can't possibly be overrated and it was so nice to have a few trips already included in the program. I loved Prague and I loved my program. I just feel that I would have chosen the much less expensive one and spent the money that I saved on traveling more. It has been an invaluable experience seeing so much of Europe, and it has solidified my belief that I want to live abroad when I graduate. view full review

Classes are good - shouldn't be such harsh emphasis and penalty on attendance. Sometimes people need to miss class and it is their responsibility to make that up. view full review
