The workload was manageable because most of my classes only had a midterm and then a final. That also meant that the two tests were worth so much more than I am used to. I still don't understand the grading system and why a 75% or above is an A1. That needs to be explained better to the students. The teaching methods were all the same. Why I gave it 4 instead of 5? It was a weird adjustment for me, personally, switching from a medium-sized school to such a large school. The switch to large lecture halls was difficult, but I had an overall positive learning experience. The teachers were very passionate about their subject-areas, and I especially loved my class on Irish Politics which coincided with the Ir... view full review

The workload was very fair giving us time to explore Ireland and make the most out of our experience. The grading system was also quite similar to ours and the lectures were the same as you would see at any university. I was put into a situation that I had never experienced before, and learned how to live on my own, 3,000 miles away from home. I learned all about the Irish government, European Union, and history of Europe, all while traveling weekend after weekend to experience my learnings first hand. The classes in Ireland are much more laid back during the year, but then all the grade is weighted on the end of year exams. The grading system is also very different. It took me some time to adjust to the fact that when you get 60% that's a B. With the grading weighted like that you might assume it's really easy to get good grades, but in reality the lecturers just gra... view full review

Grades rely soley on midterm and final tests. Very stressful when it came time to these two tests which would determine my grade. view full review

The academics are nothing like those at home. There are no quizzes or tests during the semester. Most classes had you submit one "big" paper, or about 2000 words, and then had one final at the end of the semester. view full review
